Q: Why are there FIVE bottles in the image web site?
A: 1. Because it looks cool. 2. Because we want to convey the concept of physiological dynamics. That is, nutrients such as the vitamins and minerals in SportMulti® need time to help build a better body. To build the right body, it takes time. There are no short cuts if you want to be a clean and heathy athlete. As you take the right nutrients, the body's physiology will adapt but this is a slow process that happens over months (thus the multiple bottles in the image). For example, it takes 3-4 months for your blood supply to replace itself. All your bones and the enamel of your teeth is replaced every year. As the saying goes, you are what you eat ... or, more accurately, you are what you ate 6 months ago.
Q: Do I have to take SportMulti® in split dosage (3 in the morning and 3 in the evening)?
A: The short answer is no. You can take all 6 at the same time. If you do, we recommend that you take them after your training when the body is in most need of nutrients. In general, by splitting the dosage, you are providing a more gradual nutrient release over the course of the day which is a good approach for most.
Q: Can I take too much SportMulti®?
A: Like any supplement, too much of a good thing can be a problem. But, following the RECOMMENDED USE instructions on the bottle will give you the results you are looking for.
Q: Will SportMulti® conflict with any other supplements I am taking?
A: We recommend that you assess what you are already taking as a supplement, read our label and see if you have any duplication. If you are already taking Calcium, Iron, Vitamin C, etc, you are probably duplicating your efforts. We recommend that you start simply with SportMulti® as your supplement. If after a few weeks you feel you need an additional dose of something else, go ahead. We're pretty comfortable that you will not need anything else.
Q: I am a top athlete and submit to performance enhancing drug testing. Do I have to be concerned about taking SportMulti®?
A: Absolutely not. SportMulti® was produced in a GMP Certified facility. It is the standard by which all supplements should be modeled. What is on the label is what's in the bottle. What is in the bottle is fully WADA, USADA, UCI, IOC and USAT compliant. Simple as that.
Q: I am a 40 year old male athlete and am looking for a high quality multivitamin. I came across yours and am impressed except for the fact that it includes iron. Everything that i have read and heard says that men should NOT supplement with iron. What is your view on this topic?
Every supplement is designed around a key target. We have built our formula based on the endurance athlete. Even then, each athlete has different needs. We think SportMulti® is the most effective multivitamin and mineral supplement for nearly every athlete. Here is a search term that will help sort out the iron in athletes issue as opposed to simply iron for men. Please search “athletes anemia” or click this link and you find a ton of compelling arguments.
In general, it's important to understand that athletes loss iron faster than sedentary people through the following 6 different ways:
- Sweat loss (on a typical day we loss about 1.0 - 1.5 liters of sweet per hour which equates to about 0.4 mg - 0.6 mg of iron)
- Footstrike hemolysis (destruction of red blood cells caused by the impact of feet hitting the ground while running)
- Compression hemolysis (crushing of red blood cells by intense muscular contraction) which occurs in a wide range of athletes
- Gastrointestinal bleeding which is common in endurance athletes
- Acidosis (acid gut) which affects many athletes
- Loss of blood through oxidation damage to cell membranes which affects just about every athlete
